Summer Camp 2009 / Ninja Kids Camp

Ninja Kids Camp

New this year!
This summer, Bujinkan Dojo Montreal at Beaconsfield, will reveal Ninjutsu and the Ninja life to your children. And it will also initiate them in other activities related to the Ninja, making martial arts fun to discover. Children will acquire valuable knowledge in Ninjutsu, as well as improve their fitness level, their self-esteem, flexibility, balance and ingenuity. In an atmosphere of camaraderie and respect, the children will make long lasting friendships and will have unforgettable memories.

The Ninja Philosophy

Our main objective is to give every child the attention needed to be able to grow and learn as much as possible during their camp experience. At the end of the week, every Ninja kid will have acquired new skills and knowledge of martial arts, will have tried many new activities and have made new friendships.

To achieve this goal, we’ll have a limited number of places very low, a maximum of 5 or 6 Ninja kids per instructor.

It is also important to note that the camp is only opened to children between the ages of 7 and 13
.

Camp Location
550 Beaconsfield, Beaconsfield, H9W 4E2.

The Ninja kids Program

Our camp is open to everyone. The new students will learn the basic techniques and then integrate the more advanced group. During specific Ninja activities, they will learn how to use a compass and make a Ninja camp. They will also learn how to make a compass, the way the Ninja did it.

We’ll be training on the Kata, the rolling techniques… Special attention will be given to the more experienced students, to improve of their techniques and Kata so that can prepare their next level exam.

The Ninjutsu instruction will resemble the standard Ninjutsu classes, where two instructors teach to a group of 10 to 12 students. The quality of the lessons given by our instructors will help the children concentrate, respect their friends and their instructors and learn to become aware of their environment.

The classes are done in group, so the cohesion of the group is very important and will teach the children to live a little bit more in community. The Ninjutsu instruction will also take the form of workshops and specific activities, in small groups but also with the whole group. This will help the children are not fast learners to remains in the group and to take example from the advanced students.

The Ninja Kids camp will also allow them to train with sticks, Shinai (bamboo sword), plastic Shuriken, outdoors as well as indoors, to discover these traditional Japanese weapons and their history. The wooden weapons (like the Bo) will be used without contact, to help children learn movements in space; the other weapons are in plastic or bamboo to ensure complete safety.
